New regulations to help injured horses in the U.K.

The latest news from Buckingham Palace is good news for horses.  The United Kingdom has established an emergency services protocol to ensure that horses who are injured in an incident which involves police and/or fire rescue services, will receive immediate veterinary attention.  In addition, an emergency fund was established to help pay for this care.  In the past, horses were often prevented from receiving veterinary treatment until an owner could be contacted to approve it (and pay for it).  These new regulations ensure that horses won't suffer while waiting for their owner to be traced.  The fund will also pay for rescue training, and for the specialized equipment needed in some rescue cases.
