Animal Action Week: Stop Global Warming Pledge

Polar_bear Scientists warn that global warming is having – or will have – a negative impact on many species of animals, including humans. Melting polar ice caused by global warming is affecting marine mammals like harp seals and polar bears. Warmer oceans will likely have negative impacts on whales and if semiarid parts of Africa where elephants live become even drier, elephants will be at greater risk.

The IFAW Stop Global Warming Pledge gives you a chance to help protect the environment. Get your friends and family to sign the pledge. (in PDF)

About Animal Action Week

Natural and human-made disasters affect the lives of thousands of animals and people every year. This year's theme is "To the Rescue! Emergency Relief for Animals." Learn more about Animal Action Week.

The Animals in Haiti Need Your Support We urgently need your donation to help IFAW's emergency relief teams on the ground in Haiti. Your donation will help us buy the bandages, vaccines, antibiotics and other supplies for our mobile veterinary clinic.

We have partnered with WSPA to mount a coordinated animal relief response, and our team has deployed into the devastated country.

Your donation will go directly into IFAW's Emergency Relief fund, and will be used immediately and where needed most to help the animal victims of Haiti and our Emergency Relief work around the world.

The broad agreement among climate scientists that global temperatures will continue to increase has led some nations, states, corporations and individuals to implement responses. These responses to global warming can be divided into mitigation of the causes and effects of global warming, adaptation to the changing global environment, and geoengineering to reverse global warming.
